Replacing a Faulty Commercial Water Heater

Newteam Services recently completed a commercial hot water system replacement, removing a faulty AO Smith water heater and installing a new Hamworthy DR-SG hot water generator.
The project was carefully planned to minimise disruption to the site while providing a reliable and efficient solution for the building’s hot water requirements.
Installing a Hamworthy DR-SG Hot Water Generator
The existing AO Smith water heater was removed and replaced with a Hamworthy DR-SG hot water generator.
The installation was carried out with a focus on reliable operation and long-term system performance, with the associated works completed as part of the wider hot water system replacement.

Water Treatment & System Protection
As part of the installation, Newteam Services fitted an Aquabion water treatment unit to help protect the system against limescale and corrosion.
Water treatment formed an important part of the project, helping to support the ongoing performance and reliability of the new hot water installation.
Water System Chlorination
The completed water system was also chlorinated to ensure the installation was hygienically treated and ready for use.
This was followed by testing and final checks to confirm that the complete system was operating correctly.
Thermal Insulation to Associated Pipework
Thermal insulation was installed to the associated pipework as part of the project.
This helps to reduce heat loss from the system and supports improved efficiency, particularly across the pipework connected to the new hot water generator.
Commissioning & Final Testing
Following installation, the Hamworthy DR-SG hot water generator was fully commissioned, with operational checks and testing carried out to ensure the system was working correctly.
The project was completed from the removal of the faulty equipment through to final commissioning, providing the building with a new commercial hot water solution.
Reliable Commercial Hot Water Services
This project demonstrates the importance of considering the wider system when replacing commercial hot water equipment. Alongside the new hot water generator, the works included water treatment, chlorination, pipework insulation, commissioning and final operational checks.
