Project: Boiler replacement, PHX installation and plumbing work. 

We have recently completed the installation of an Ideal Imax heating boiler, replacing the existing DeDietirch heating boiler. The existing boiler had been deemed unsafe and parts no longer available. Once the existing boiler and associated electrics had been removed the new boiler was installed and connected to the existing services.

As well as the new boiler, we completed the installation of an Alfa Laval plate heat exchanger that provides instantaneous hot water to the building. Because the existing boilers were replaced with modern gas fired condensing boilers it was identified that the gas pressure drop was too great and outside the manufactures requirements. However, there was enough combined boiler power to satisfy the heating and hot water system to remove the existing hot water storage cylinder and replace with a plate heat exchanger.

The plate heat exchanger has its own integral modulating controls which monitors the temperature of primary and secondary hot water. The court building will benefit from a reduction in their energy usage as there is now only two gas fired appliances operating at 98% efficiency.

In addition to the plant replacements we carried out plumbing refurbishment which include three kitchenettes, ladies WC, gent’s WC and two Unisex WC facilities.

This work included the installation of under sink water heaters, instantaneous tap water heaters, wash hand basins, urinals, WC’s, and mains cold water points for drink dispensers.
